about

Fields is something different. Something less dark. Less fractured. It’s something warmer and perhaps more calm.

Musically, Fields comes from my love of direct melodies and of simple chord structures. It also comes from my complete inability to program or sequence anything when it comes to music gear, leaving me to build it all stone by stone, block by block (to quote one of my all-time favorites). It’s also the first time I’m including singing and actual lyrics on an album, and I am forever grateful to the amazingly talented Benoît Pioulard for contributing his beautiful voice to this album.

I started working on what would eventually become Fields already back in 2015. Since then it has existed in so many forms I’ve lost track of where it even started. And at this point, I’m not even sure what kind of album this is, but I know I like it and I sincerely hope you will too. In the end, I am still just that half-assed bass player trying to make the music I hear in my head come alive.
